RTX 4060 Ti launch price, date and specifications revealed, coming 24th May with 16GB version too
The standard RTX 4060 has no release date yet, but will also ship with 8GB memory. Nvidia is gunning for 1080 performance here and looking to tempt owners of current Steam hardware survey top cards such as the RTX 3060, GTX 1060 and GTX 1660.
The power consumption is a stand-out feature for the RTX 4060, with the RTX 4070 already offering superb efficiency. The RTX 4060 Ti has a TDP of just 160W, so it's unlikely anyone upgrading from previous generation cards will need a new power supply.
The launch sits right along side AMD's Radeon RX 7600 with Nvidia stating its new models are a direct competitor in price and performance. That sounds like gloves off then.This is a key battleground for both companies as the sub $500 market is where the vast majority of sales are and with plenty of people holding on to older cards due to high prices, especially during the pandemic, the launch of new mid-range cards could finally see PC gamers upgrade.
Nvidia is also pushing ray tracing and DLSS 3 support with its RTX 4060 models that has received positive reviews and offers significant frame rate boosts even in CPU-bound systems thanks to frame generation.
