A decision was then made to keep it closed as kickoff approached.
The initial effort to open the roof began as 9:30 a.m. approached, while both teams were beginning pregame warmups. “We tried to open it. It wouldn’t open. It cut off on safeties,” Miller said. “We decided the safest bet was to close it and keep it closed.
