NPR 'punished' editor who alleged liberal bias, threatens 'final warning'

The editor has been suspended five days without pay, NPR says.

The outlet now says Berlinger’s editorial has made NPR into a target for conservative outlets and led to “deep anger and dismay” and internal “fallout.” Making matters worse, social media users on Monday beganinto CEO Katherine Maher's history and raised concerns over the number of perceived partisan posts she has made on social media.

We're looking for a leader right now who's going to be unifying and bring more people into the tent and have a broader perspective on, sort of, what America is all about," Berliner said. "And this seems to be the opposite of that."
