UCLA finishes its nonconference schedule 11-2 with Wednesday afternoon’s win over UC Davis at Pauley Pavilion.

LOS ANGELES — It took three minutes for the UCLA men’s basketball team to score.

Just days before Christmas, Wednesday afternoon’s ho-hum game against visiting Aggies had the trimmings for a trap game after the Bruins’ electric wins on the East Coast. Clark scored 13 of his 18 points in the opening half and matched a career-best 11 rebounds in 30 minutes. Jaime Jaquez Jr. had 14 points , nine rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes. Tyger Campbell added 17 points and Adem Bona had nine points and six rebounds.

The same defense that helped UCLA take down Maryland and Kentucky over the weekend was on display in the latter 10 minutes of the first half. UCLA stymied UC Davis’ offense, which was 1 of 10 from the field and scoreless for just under four minutes.
