Northwestern eyes its second straight championship, while Boston College looks to redeem itself from last year’s 18-6 defeat in the title game.
The Wildcats’ defense, anchored by graduate student goalkeeper Molly Laliberty, played a pivotal role with Laliberty recording 10 saves to help contain Florida’s potent offense. Junior midfielder Samantha Smith dominated the draw circle, securing eight draw controls and giving Northwestern a crucial edge in possession.
Boston College, on the other hand, secured its spot in the final with a 10-7 win over Syracuse, marking their seventh consecutive appearance in the national championship game. The Eagles’ defense was stellar, with sophomore goalkeeper Shea Dolce making 12 saves and the team holding Syracuse scoreless for extended periods in both halves. Rachel Clark led the Eagles’ offense, scoring four goals and adding an assist, while McKenna Davis contributed three goals and an assist.
