New Mexico state Senate GOP leader Gregory Baca told Fox News Digital that he is filing a lawsuit over Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham's gun carry ban.
CNN anchor Poppy Harlow confronted Democratic New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham over her emergency order to ban people from carrying firearms in Albuquerque.Senate's Republican leader is set to file a lawsuit against Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham in an effort to stop her gun carry ban.
"We are going to file suit against her this week, most likely today or tomorrow, because of its blatant unconstitutionality," Baca told Fox News Digital, referring to the Second Amendment right to bear arms. When asked if he believes the public health order will be stopped, Baca said,"I do. I think it certainly will be."
Baca said there are six lawsuits already filed against Grisham and that he and his colleagues"will be filing at the state court level with the Supreme Court of New Mexico." "I've always understood that the oath I've taken both for the United States military, this office, for the New Mexico State bar, those I take seriously," he continued."And I have felt that those should not ever be violated."
