Here's how to watch the opening game of the best-of-three NL Wild Card series between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Philadelphia Phillies, starting today.
The Phillies will trot out 2021 NL Cy Young runner-up Zack Wheeler, who this year posted a 2.82 ERA with 163 strikeouts, going 12-7. He’ll be opposed by the Cardinals’ Jose Quintana, a lefty acquired from the Pittsburgh Pirates who posted a 2.93 ERA and 137 strikeouts on the season.
Offensively, the Phillies are led by Bryce Harper, who in an injury-riddled season still managed a .286 batting average with 18 homers, as well as Kyle Schwarber, who led the National League with 46 homers. The Cardinals are paced by presumptive MVP favorite Paul Goldschmidt, who hit .317 with 35 homers, as well as third baseman Nolan Arenado, who hit .293 with 30 homers and is one of the best defensive players in the sport. There should also be at-bats for the legendary Albert Pujols, who recorded his 700th home run of his career last month.TIME:
