I spent over 35 years as a high tech exec at HPE, IBM, and AMD. Now I love to learn and share the amazing hardware and services being built to enable Artificial Intelligence, the next big thing in technology.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology has confirmed three algorithms co-developed by IBM Research, which are used to protect sensitive infrastructure and data from attacks by bad actors using Quantum Computers to break the existing encryptionAs we have discussed before in these pages, the cryptography used in every computer in the world will need to be updated, and soon, to be safe from the power of cryptographically relevant quantum computers to break security.
The US NIST has now approved three of the new algorithms being used. Crypto-agility means that a system, platform, application, or organization can rapidly adapt its cryptographic mechanisms and algorithms in response to changing threats, technological advances, or vulnerabilities.
