A Sunday morning crash in El Mirage has left nine people injured, including a 9-year-old boy.
At about 10 a.m. Sunday, officers with the El Mirage Police Department responded to the area of Grand Avenue and Thunderbird Road to reports of an injury crash. Personnel with the El Mirage Fire Department responded and treated a total of nine victims at the scene from four different vehicles involved, El Mirage police spokesperson Lt. Tim Mason told The Arizona Republic.
One of the victims was a 9-year-old boy, who was in critical condition at the Phoenix Children's Hospital. According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, U.S. Route 60 was closed in both directions in El Mirage with no estimated time to reopen.
