The league announced the starters on Thursday, February 8th, with Jokic joining fellow Western Conference frontcourt starters Joel Embiid and Andrew Wiggins. The 2025 All-Star Game will take place on February 16th at Chase Center in San Francisco, marking a significant change in format.
Instead of the traditional single regulation-length game, the All-Star weekend will culminate in a tournament of first-to-40 pickup games.The 24 All-Stars will be divided into three teams of eight, with the winning squad from the Rising Stars event on February 14th joining the mix. TNT analysts Charles Barkley, Shaquille O'Neal, and Kenny Smith will draft the rosters for the three All-Star teams on February 6th. Jokic, who celebrates his 30th birthday on February 19th, is enjoying a career-defining season. He is leading the league in triple-doubles, averaging career highs in points (30.1), rebounds (12.2), assists (9.9), and steals (1.9). His proficiency from beyond the arc is also remarkable, shooting 47.5% from three-point range and ranking second in the league.This All-Star selection marks Jokic's seventh appearance in the prestigious event, solidifying his place among the league's elite players. He joins a select group of 13 active players who have achieved the milestone of seven or more All-Star selections. His coach, Michael Malone, believes this is the best basketball Jokic has ever played, citing his career-best numbers, particularly his impressive three-point shooting.
