The NFL on Thursday issued a statement saying the league disagrees with comments made by Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker during his commencement address at Benedictine College in Kansas last weekend.
During his 20-minute address, Butker criticized LGBTQ Pride month, abortion, working women, President Joe Biden, and more. “His views are not those of the NFL as an organization," Jonathan Beane, the NFL's senior vice president and chief diversity and inclusion officer, told People. 20-minute address
Butker, 28, noted the pride Benedictine students have for their school while stating his opposition to LGBTQ pride and upcoming Pride month, which is “I want to speak directly to you briefly, because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you,” Butker said.
Butker also criticized Biden, saying “bad public policies and poor leadership have negatively impacted major life issues.”
