A property in Newton Mearns has been cordoned off by police following a bomb alert and several residents were evacuated over concerns about explosives.
As a result paramedics and fire officers were then called to the house. It’s understood that a bomb disposal team also attended, the Daily Record reports.This evening, police continued to seal off the small road leading in and out of of the properties. A spokesperson added: “Officers were called to a property in Pilmuir Holdings, Newton Mearns, at around 6.15pm on Thursday, February, 2 2023 following a report of a man causing a disturbance. A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this and enquiries are continuing. Officers remain at the address and there is no ongoing threat to the public.”
