Gov. GavinNewsom dodged questions about whether he plans to run for president and chose to defend President JoeBiden's record instead in an interview with FoxNews's SeanHannity.

Newsom made the comments in an interview with Fox News's Sean Hannity. During the interview, Hannity pressed Newsom on whether he should, or plans to, run in the Democratic primary against Biden."I suspect if I took your phone and I took a look at it," Hannity said,"I would bet on a daily basis that there’s people urging you to run for president and primary [Biden].

"My phone has been lighting up with how well he did with the U.K. prime minister," Newsom responded."McCarthy on the debt ceiling. These bipartisan bills he passes on infrastructure and the CHIPS and Science Act, the bipartisan work on gun legislation reform and around the debt ceiling.""Everybody has their chatter," Newsom said.

Hannity then played a video showing a series of Biden's gaffes, with the suggestion that Biden wasn't mentally fit to hold the presidency. "I have conversations with him all the time. Yes. I’m dead serious about that," Newsom said while Hannity scoffed."I've talked to him when he’s been overseas. I’ve been in Air Force One, Marine One, the limo with him."When Hannity again pressed him as to how many people were begging him to run for president, Newsom doubled down.
