A new section of the North Loop 1604 Expansion Project is underway and will affect North Loop 1604 in both directions between Highway 281 and Redland Road.
Businesses near the 1604 Loop are concerned that construction could lower traffic to their business.
Several businesses that will be directly affected told us they are bracing and preparing for the traffic impacts the project could have on their existing customers and foot traffic in general. “The clients are running really late with the construction, sometimes up to 30 to 40 minutes late, it’s even worse during lunchtime so it’s kind of affecting appointment times, running into other clients that are after them,” said Michelle Maietta is an esthetician at Glow Salon and Spa.
“We’re going to have to talk to our clients and tell them to prepare for the traffic ahead of time and leave a little bit earlier than usual because if not we just have to cancel on them, not that we want to do that,” said Maietta.
