Roiland was fired from his shows, along with being recast in Rick and Morty, after being charged with felony domestic battery. The charges were later dropped, with the court citing insufficient evidence.
A new report from NBC News, which is based on interviews with 11 women and nonbinary people, details disturbing allegations against the Rick and Morty co-creator. In texts, emails, and social media direct messages that took place between 2013 and 2022, nine of the interviewees say that Roiland led their conversations to be more focused on sex. Three said they were 16 years old when the correspondence began.
The Latest Accusations Against Roiland, Explained The report details an incident, in which Roiland bought two alcoholic drinks to a 20-year-old woman. She says that Roiland asked her to perform oral sex on him. When the woman said no, she says that Roiland pushed her towards his crotch and she stopped resisting. The woman discussed the incident on the phone with a friend, which NBC News verified.
The report on the Rick and Morty co-creator also sheds light on messages where Roiland referred to two different 16 -year old people as “jailbait”, a term for underage women that older men find attractive. In another message, a 16-year-old girl expresses interest in livestreaming video games. Roiland responds: “Then once you turn 18 you just start cam whoring.” One person, who was underage, said she attended a party with Roiland.
