will replace the just-canceled A Christmas Story 5K/10K Run. It will be coordinated by the same organizers, Road Runner Enterprises, but refocus on the city not just one attraction. The defunct race was an annual holiday event from 2013 to 2019. Runners and walkers were invited to dress as their favorite movie characters and run a race that took them by filming locations from the 1983 holiday classic about Ralphie Parker’s dreams of a Red Ryder air rifle.
“The Christmas Story House has decided to not be part of the race moving forward,” she says. “Our goal is to give the runners a similar experience to what we’ve had in the past. It’s going to be a name change and we’re still working on the route, but we are continuing the legacy. Funds we raise will still go to Tremont-area homeowners in need.”
Dress recommendations for the race will shift to anything Christmas-themed that shares the spirit of Cleveland and holidays. The exact course is being determined but will likely end in Tremont. The website with more information will be up and running on May 18 atRELATED
