He said that the Government is considering a new arena that can host more sophisticated and different types of events, has a faster turnaround time between events and has more varied hospitality suites and seating. There was no mention of this arena potentially replacing the current indoor stadium, which was still present in an artist’s impression of the precinct in 2030.

The Singapore Indoor Stadium was built at a cost of S$90 million and was designed by Japanese architect Kenzo Tange.
