North Texans can expect quiet weather and more wind with southerly wind gusts over 25 mph.
The current, quiet weather pattern in place will stick around for several days. Milder weather is expected Friday with more wind as well. Southerly winds may gust over 25 mph. This time of year a south wind can mean in increase in the cedar pollen being blown in from the Hill Country.
A Pacific cold front will move across the state early Saturday bringing slightly cooler air. There will also be a chance for showers across East and Southeast Texas. Despite the cold front, temperatures will still be above normal over the weekend. The relatively mild pattern is thanks to a flood of Pacific air spreading over much of the nation. This type of weather will likely last past the middle of January.
