The ISS space junk reentered the Earth's atmosphere in an uncontrolled manner around March 8, 2024.

A huge metal space debris that crash-landed inside a Florida house came from the International Space Station , NASA has officially confirmed. The house owner, Alejandro Otero, posted photographs of the metal-like cylindrical item in a partly charred state on X on March 16.“Hello. Looks like one of those pieces missed Ft Myers and landed in my house in Naples. Tore through the roof and went thru 2 floors. Almost his my son,”Tore through the roof and went thru 2 floors. Almost his my son.

“As part of the analysis, NASA completed an assessment of the object’s dimensions and features compared to the released hardware and performed a materials analysis,” NASA said in its press statement. The US space agency mostly relies on engineering models to predict how things will heat up and break apart during atmospheric reentry.
