The owner of a Union County Italian restaurant admitted Monday that he did not pay nearly half a million in New Jersey sales taxes that he collected for almost seven years, the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office announced Friday. John Garofalo Sr., 75, of Union Township pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree theft by failure to make required disposition of property, the office said.
