A motorcyclist was killed and another rider was injured in a multi-vehicle crash while riding with a group Saturday afternoon in Oceanside, police said. The crash happened when one rider slowed down for a turning vehicle, causing a following rider to rear-end him. Both motorcycles fell into traffic, resulting in one rider being hit by a Toyota Yaris and the other crashing into another vehicle.

Police said a group of five or six motorcyclists was traveling north on Coast Highway when one rider slowed down after he spotted a vehicle that stopped and was preparing to make a left turn. A second rider who was closely following was unable to stop, and he rear-ended the first motorcycle, police said.
