More than 100 flights have been canceled across the Chicago area Wednesday amid weather alerts warning of freezing rain, ice, sleet and high winds.
O'Hare Airport reported more than 100 flights had been canceled as of 11:30 a.m. Another 43 were canceled at Midway Airport around the same time.
Weather problems contributed to more than 1,200 canceled flights across the country by midmorning, according to tracking service FlightAware. About one third of those canceled flights – roughly 400 – were due to arrive or depart from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.Sign up for NBC Chicago newsletters.
