The court agreed there was enough evidence to warrant an attempted murder charge against Khalfani Hardwick, 36. This is in addition to the charges he already faces of first-degree domestic violence and possessing a firearm when forbidden to do so.south of Montgomery on Saturday. Investigators say he was stabbed and shot. Deputies arrested his son a short time later.
Khalfani Hardwick is having trouble finding an attorney due to his father’s ties to the court system, and all the circuit judges have recused themselves. With that being the case, a judge with the 19th Judicial Circuit is presiding over the case. That judge granted Hardwick an attorney from the 19th circuit.“We’re going to handle this case like we would any other case, especially, a case of this type of violent nature. We’re going to pursue it and do what we normally do,” said Bailey.
