Montana's legislature has passed a statewide ban on TikTok
in February that"after years of investigative reporting we now know this to be true, TikTok endangers the safety of Montanans and Americans at large." ,"We know that beyond a doubt that TikTok's parent company ByteDance is operating as a surveillance arm of the Chinese Communist Party and gathers information about Americans against their will.
She added,"we will continue to fight for TikTok users and creators in Montana whose livelihoods and First Amendment rights are threatened by this egregious government overreach." Other groups like the American Civil Liberties Union are also protesting Montana's bill. In a letter sent to members of Montana's House of Representatives on Tuesday, the ACLUthat the ban will violate the First Amendment rights of the"hundreds of thousands of Montanans who use the app to communicate, gather information, and express themselves daily."
