Pittsford, N.Y. Monroe County is working to pave the way for safer pedestrian access.
"Since we did that, we've had a lot of momentum," Monroe County Executive Adam Bello said during Wednesday's press conference. "We put $10 million aside for the program, and that was just last year. So far this year, we've spent just over $4 million, and we did that by installing a total of six miles of new sidewalk."
Sidewalk projects are underway in Brighton, Brockport, Chili, Mendon, Penfield, Perinton, Pittsford and Riga.Allens Creek Road, north side, from Monroe Avenue to Schoolhouse LaneEdgewood Avenue, west side, from Stonybrook Drive to Monroe Avenue Westfall Road, north side, from Roosevelt Road to Monroe Avenue and south side, Del Rio Drive to Edgewood AvenuePaul Road, north side, from Hunt Hollow to Chili AvenuePlank Road, south side, from Shoecraft Road to Jackson RoadFive Mile Line Road, east side, from Crossbow Drive to Embury RoadTurk Hill Road, from Summit St. to Town HallGilman Road, south side, from North Main Street to Spotts Circle
