Johnson will reprise his role as Maui, the superstrong and mystical demigod who helps Moana through her journey, in the upcoming Disney sequel.
Dwayne Johnson’s Moana Future Explained Johnson was a critical component to the first Moana film. In the Disney animated jaunt, he showed off an aspect of his talent which he does not usually emphasize: his singing voice. This was brought out most notably through the catchy hit “You’re Welcome,” Maui’s big character song wherein he explains his demigod status. Losing out only to “How Far I’ll Go,” “You’re Welcome” was the second biggest song from the movie.
