This didn't look like a fun time.
4-3 on Wednesday night at the Great American Ballpark. Joe Mantiply earned his first save of the season and just the third save of his career after he replaced closer Kevin Ginkel with one out and two runners on in the bottom of the ninth. After Ginkel surrendered a walk, two hits and one run, Mantiply came in and retired both batters he faced to preserve the win.
Gabriel Moreno caught the entire game for the Diamondbacks, helping guide Jordan Montgomery through seven strong innings while going 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Not that it was a perfect game for Moreno. During the seventh inning he failed to get in front of a pitch from Montgomery that bounced in front of the plate. With no one on, Moreno took a swipe at the ball rather than sacrifice his body. Home plate Adam Hamari paid the price.
