Mississippi Medicaid spent less than $60,000 in five years on gender-affirming care before legislative ban.
by Molly Minta and Kate Royals, Mississippi Today April 11, 2023 The Mississippi Division of Medicaid spent months working to determine how much it paid in claims associated with gender identity disorder or gender dysphoria following an anonymous legislative request, according to emails obtained through a public records request. The answer: A maximum of $58,900.
