An AMBER Alert issued for a missing 3-year-old child in the San Antonio area ended when the child was found in Austin , U.S. Marshals officials said. Chandler Baker was safely recovered on Thursday, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. Samantha Castaneda, 38, fled her home with the endangered missing child and refused contact with law enforcement and special investigators, the release states. The U.S. Marshals conducted a missing child investigation.
With tips from the public and law enforcement intelligence, they believed the child was in the Austin area. Deputy U.S. Marshals in San Antonio sent a lead to the Austin Division with a location given by a credible source, the release states. Austin authorities found surveillance in the area and went to the home to find Castaneda and the missing child. The child was recovered and placed in state custody
