A Midvale man accused of slashing his mother's throat with a razor is now facing a charge of aggravated attempted murder.
MIDVALE — A Midvale man already on probation for assaulting his girlfriend is now charged with slitting his mother's throat, causing near-fatal injuries.
On June 18, Unified police received a 911 call from a woman who could not talk and was struggling to breathe, according to police. When officers arrived at her house near 600 East and 6800 South, a neighbor said she "had heard screaming and yelling from the residence and saw a male, she believed to be the resident's son, Alec Paul Davis, leave in a vehicle," charging documents state.
The mother underwent successful surgery but "was unable to speak as her trachea and vocal cords had been severed," the charges state. When a detective asked "if her son is the one who assaulted her, nodded her head up and down to indicate it was."and was taken into custody
