Mobile Fire-Rescue crews are battling a house fire on Ruth Street tonight
Crews were able to make entry into the back half of the home, but personnel said extreme hoarding conditions impeded their progress.
The roof was opened for ventilation, but fire and smoke became worse and firefighters were pulled back due to safety concerns. At 8:52 p.m., incident command said they called for more apparatuses for manpower and additional elevated streams. Then, at 10:45 p.m., the MFRD reported the fire as being “mostly contained at this point.” Firefighters continued to extinguish hot spots as an investigator collects information. Firefighters would remain at the location through the night on fire watch, ensuring it does not flare back up.
