A study of more than 100 males shows there may be a connection between bedtime and fertility, and men who go to bed later have a more reduced semen quality. The study was conducted by researchers at Aarhus University in Denmark andThe men were divided into three bedtime groups based on their typical sleep habits: early, regular and late. Nearly 62 percent of males who went to bed before 10:30 p.m. had normal semen rates.
That’s not all. The amount of time men spent sleeping also affected their semen quality. The majority of study participants who slept less than seven hours, nearly 73 percent, had reduced semen quality. Meanwhile, 70 percent of males who slept seven and a half to eight hours had “standard semen quality.” Interestingly, sleeping more than eight hours showed reduced semen quality for 46 percent of men.
Sleep isn’t the only thing affecting fertility in males. Men who exercise frequently and eat lots of walnuts boost their fertility chances. to read up on some other small changes guys can incorporate into their daily lives to help their sperm.
