Melissa OKs zoning change for new Walmart
Most who spoke during public comment were in favor of the proposal, because they drive to neighboring cities to shop at Walmart and having one closer to home would be ideal. They also spoke about the benefits of more employment opportunities for youth and the tax revenue the store would bring to the city.
The Walmart, which will still need approval for a plat and site plan, will be ready for shoppers in about two years..
