Cori Clingman faces multiple charges including vehicular manslaughter after a high-speed crash killed three young men, including Minnesota Vikings rookie Khyree Jackson.
A Maryland woman, Cori Clingman, was apprehended and formally charged with thirteen counts, including negligent vehicular manslaughter, negligent homicide, and driving under the influence of alcohol, stemming from a tragic car accident on July 6th that resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including Minnesota Vikings rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson.
According to Maryland State Police, Clingman was allegedly driving at a high rate of speed when she initiated a lane change, colliding with a maroon Dodge Charger before impacting a Chevrolet Impala. The force of the collision propelled the Charger off the roadway, causing it to crash into several tree stumps. Jackson, 24 years old, who was the front passenger in the Charger, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the Charger, Isaiah Hazel, also 24, was pronounced dead at the scene. A third passenger in the Charger, Anthony Lytton, 24, was transported to a medical facility but tragically died from his injuries. The driver of the Impala sustained no injuries and declined medical attention at the scene. Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy addressed the devastating incident, stating that the crash claimed the lives of “three amazing young men.” She emphasized the profound loss each of their deaths represents for their families and the community. Braveboy further announced that Clingman faces a potential maximum of 30 years in prison if convicted.Online court records do not currently list an attorney representing Clingman. Jackson, a starting cornerback at the University of Oregon, was selected by the Vikings in the fourth round of the NFL draft. A social media post from Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School's athletic department revealed that Jackson attended the school with both Hazel and Lytton. State's Attorney Braveboy believes Clingman also attended the high school with them, indicating a long-standing connection between the individuals involved in the tragedy
