“We are not afraid!, We are not afraid!” shouted demonstrators who sang the Venezuelan national anthem to herald Machado’s brave defiance of Maduro. Those demonstrators that did show up blocked a main avenue in one opposition stronghold. Many were senior citizens and dressed in red, yellow and blue, answering Machado’s call to wear the colors of the Venezuelan flag.
