An Antioch letter to the editor: There have been letters lately criticizing Jim O'Donnell for not yet buying the 'Pat Fitzgerald should have known' based on the known facts so far.

There have been letters lately criticizing Jim O'Donnell for not yet buying the"Pat Fitzgerald should have known" based on the known facts so far. The letters were particularly outraged that O'Donnell compared the"should have known about the hazing" to"should have known if his players had brushed their teeth."

One letter claims that the sexualized hazing went on in the football locker room. I am not certain that verified facts have yet established this. I recall reading that much of the worst hazing took place in the dorms. I consider this very important in making a determination whether"Pat Fitzgerald should have known." If the locker room was a significant location for the hazing, then it is really strange that all of the assistant coaches were retained and Pat Fitzgerald is the lone coach who"should have known."

One thing that I think Pat Fitzgerald should rethink is his insistence on having his players groom themselves so as to present the proper Northwestern look. He required this of all the players and I don't believe it was racist in intent; but, in respect to hairstyles at least, it was probably racist in impact.
