The Mandalorian’s Giancarlo Esposito reveals his one request before agreeing to play Moff Gideon. Esposito’s Moff Gideon is the primary antagonist of The Mandalorian seasons 1 and 2, tasked with capturing Grogu for experimental purposes. His performance has been praised by fans and critics, who have lauded Esposito’s ability to bring the formidable, terrifying villain to life onscreen. Esposito has been nominated for two Emmy Awards for his role.
Immediately excited by Favreau’s pitch of the character, Esposito says he requested that his character wear a cape, to which Favreau agreed. He adds that the cape elevated his portrayal of the warlord and allowed him to “feel like a kid again.” Check out Esposito’s story below:
