A huge fight broke out at Levi’s Stadium during the CONCACAF Gold Cup game between Mexico and Qatar in San Francisco on Sunday night, leaving one man critically injured, according to police.a man wearing green flying into a massive brawl with what looks like a knife.
Santa Clara police responded to the fight, where a male victim had a visible wound in his upper collarbone area.A man was stabbed and critically injuredThe police department released a statement, as well as two photos, as they search for the suspect and one person of interest. Detectives determined through witness statements and video footage that the victim was stabbed during the altercation, after which the suspect fled the scene.
He is described as a 25 to 35-year-old Hispanic man with a thin mustache and short dark-colored hair and was wearing a Mexican national team jersey at the time of the incident.The woman he was with — a Hispanic female adult with dark-colored hair and a similar Mexican national team soccer jersey — is also considered a “person of interest.”
The Mexican Soccer Federation issued a statement Tuesday to “roundly condemn these acts of violence,” offering to work with local authorities to avoid similar events in the future.A massive brawl broke out during Sunday’s CONCACAF Gold Cup match between Mexico and Qatar.Mexico did not fair too well against the United States just three days prior, though, watching star Christian Pulisic hit the back of the net twice in the first half en route to a 3-0 win for the U.S.
