Ron Jeske was having a heart attack on the job and his co-worker stepped in to save him by performing CPR.

) - It started as a typical day for a group of men on a job site at the university of west Florida field house. Very quickly, it turned into a near death experience for Ron Jeske. He was having a heart attack.Jeske said, “Had my iPad in one hand, cup of coffee in the other and I was waiting for another one of our superintendents to open the door. I got real light headed and then that’s the last thing I remember..”That’s when Floyd jumped into action.

Yates teaches CPR and is glad Floyd was there. He nominated Floyd for the Certificate of Merit. It’s the highest award given by the American Red Cross. Yates said, “The 9 or 10 years I’ve taught this class...you never really knew that, wow this could actually happen. I’m glad somebody got down there and performed CPR. I’m kind of glad it was Zack.”“I’m just thankful he was there. I wouldn’t be here talking to you today if he wasn’t,” Jeske said.

Jeske stayed in the hospital for three days and had a stent put in during a heart cath. Since his heart attack, he tells us he has made lifestyle changes for his health and feels much better.
