Man fatally struck by Amtrak train in Clairemont [Breaking]
A passenger train fatally struck a pedestrian Monday in Clairemont, sheriff’s Sgt. Jason King said.
The southbound Amtrak train hit the man near the intersection of Santa Fe Street and Balboa Avenue about 12:45 p.m., King said. The man died before he could be taken to a hospital, King said. The pedestrian’s name was withheld pending family notification.The Sheriff’s Department’s Transit Enforcement Unit investigates incidents involving trains in San Diego County.
Investigators asked anyone with information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Department’s non-emergency line at 565-5200.
