Man fatally stabbed during brawl in middle of Chelsea street
A man was stabbed to death during a wild broad-daylight brawl in the middle of a Chelsea crosswalk — where they fought it out as grizzled New Yorkers strolled casually by the mayhem, according to video of the incident.
While one woman can be seen in the clip walking by in the crossing and barely giving the fisticuffs a glance, another woman who appeared to be a nurse walks right between the men as the larger combatant holds a knife.It was unclear what sparked the violence.The fight occurred in the middle of traffic.“One lady got in between and told them ‘don’t fight,'” said a worker at a nearby laundry who gave his name as Mr. Lee.
The other man, identified by cops as Nisean Graves, was taken into custody and charged with murder Friday afternoon, cops said. Graves, a 34-year-old homeless man, attacked a person in May 2021 in Lower Manhattan, stabbing the victim in both arms, according to a criminal complaint.
