Man shot multiple times at gas station, citizens attempt CPR to no avail, police say
A man was fatally shot early Monday at a gas station, according to Houston Police Department officials.
A witness identified the shooter to law enforcement as a man wearing a blue hoodie and white mask, Lt. J.P. Horelica told On Scene reporters. When officers arrived at the scene around 4 a.m. in the 9500 block of Southwest Freeway, they found citizens already performing CPR on the man who was shot. The man, believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s, suffered multiple gunshot wounds, Horelica said. He was taken in an ambulance to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The motive of the shooting was unknown early Monday and police were uncertain whether the victim had been getting gas or why he was in the parking lot. A witness noted two vehicles leaving the area, a white Charger and a blue truck, but it was unknown if the vehicles are related to the shooting or if they were just driving by, Horelica said.
