Troopers said a coupe, driven by an 18-year-old from Elkton who had a 17-year-old passenger from Green Acres and a 16-year-old passenger from Palatka in the car, was headed north on U.S. 1 around 7:15 p.m. Friday. The 50-year-old was crossing the northbound lanes of U.S. 1 to reach the center median and stepped into the path of the coupe, troopers said.All three teens were wearing their seat belts and none of them suffered injuries, according to the report.A Jacksonville native and proud University of North Florida alum, Francine Frazier has been with News4Jax since 2014 after spending nine years at The Florida Times-Union.
