The Talladega County Coroner’s Office identified the fatality victim as Joshua Andrew Harris. He was 41 and lived in Sylacauga.Coroner Shaddix Murphy said four vehicles were stopped at the light, waiting to turn onto Fort Williams Street, when a pickup truck crashed into Harris’s vehicle.Harris was pronounced dead on the scene. Other motorists sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
“Yesterday afternoon, our community was shaken by a tragic accident on Hwy 280,’’ the Sylacauga Police Department posted on Facebook. “Our hearts go out to the families affected by this heartbreaking incident.” “During times like these, the strength and solidarity of our community become our greatest assets,” the post read.
