A man has been charged with multiple crimes in a 2023 alcohol-related wrong way crash on a Fremont freeway that left a woman passenger in another vehicle dead.

The charges were filed Oct. 4. Cancino Garcia has been out of custody and prosecutors have notified him that charges have been filed and that he is to report to court Friday.Crime and Public Safety |According to authorities, Cancino Garcia was driving a gray Dodge Ram pickup truck northbound in a southbound lane when it collided head-on with a BMW330i.
According to media accounts at the time, Cancino Garcia suffered major burns and other injuries when his truck overturned and caught fire. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
