A man robbing a church claimed to have felt 'something' holding his head down under the water in the baptistry pool. The suspect used a cinder block to break into the church, causing significant damage and stealing electronics and money.

, Derik Porter used a cinder block to smash through a window of Emerald Beach Church of God in Bay County. While inside he caused $8,000 worth of damage and loaded several electronics, including a television and a computer, and the church’s money bag into his truck.

Law enforcement found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on Porter, who could not remember what happened during various moments inside the church, officials said. He did recall baptizing himself in the church’s baptistry pool and claimed “something” was holding his head down under the water.
