Brent Meldeau was attacked by a man with a machete in the parking lot of the Chatsworth Metro station. He said the station isn't kept safe, considering a large homeless encampment several hundred feet from the parking lot.

According to the police report provided by Meldeau's attorneys, Meldeau was approached by a man from the encampment, who threatened him with a machete before swinging at him.
