Police say that they also suspect that the occupier of the home was using a magnet to abstract electricity
Officers were conducting enquiries in the Ballynahinch area when they discovered suspected cannabis plants growing in a bedroom.
A further search of the property uncovered suspected Class A and Class B drugs along with equipment police suspect of being used in the production of illegal substances.. A PSNI spokesperson said: "On Saturday 17th June 2023 Officers from the local Policing Team in Downpatrick were conducting enquiries in the Ballynahinch area when they discovered the below cannabis plants being grown in a bedroom at a property.
"An extensive search of the property revealed further Class A and Class B drugs and equipment related to the production of these illegal drugs."Northern Ireland Electricity were conducted who attended and removed the magnet and meter.
