Aaron Brewer, the man accused of targeting storage units across southern Utah, is now facing additional charges after police in Washington City linked him to at

least 80 more burglaries.

According to police documents, Brewer’s crime spree began in September, leaving damage and dozens of victims in his wake. Investigators said Brewer would cut through or climb over fences to access storage facilities, using bolt cutters and a grinder to break into the units.“We just opened, so we only had about 20 units rented out. All 20 of them were broken into,” said Tayton Young, owner of Majestic Hills Self Storage. “It’s something we didn’t know was such a common thing.

“We showed up and noticed there was a different lock on our unit,” Tuttle said. “We had to call a locksmith to open it. When we did, it was scattered. You could tell someone went through everything.” “You think a storage unit with walls, gates, cameras and locks will keep your stuff safe. But this guy wreaked havoc here in southern Utah. It’s hard not to feel violated," Tuttle said.
