A serious crash has closed Southport's Coastal Road in both directions
The incident took place between Marine Drive and Shore Road before 6.30am this morning . Members of the public have been urged to avoid the area.
Emergency services are at the scene, with police saying they are 'working with order agencies to resolve the situation'. According to traffic monitoring website, INRIX, traffic is coping well with the closure at this time.A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "We have closed Coastal Road in Southport following a road traffic collision . We are working with other agencies to resolve the situation. Please avoid the area for now.
Inrix said: "Coastal Road in both directions closed due to accident between Marine Drive and Shore Road . Traffic is coping well."
